Andrew Cohen is licensed to practice in Washington D.C. and is a specialist in Japanese law who assists law firms in the United States with the execution of lawsuits involving Japanese companies.

Mr. Cohen learned Japanese by moving to Japan in 1997 and teaching English in the town of Yamada, Iwate Prefecture in Northern Japan.  After this experience, he attended law school, specialized in the study of Japanese Law and worked in Japan at two major law firms.  He moved to the District of Columbia area in 2005 and has been involved with various lawsuits using his language ability to aid in discovery, summary translation, relevancy requests, privilege determinations, and other aspects of trial work. 

An avid researcher, Mr. Cohen performs historical research about World War II in the Pacific Theater of Operations at the National Archives in College Park, Maryland and is currently working on a book that examines problems between the Medical Case and the Tokyo War Crimes Trials involving human experimentation.  He is also familiar with the research techniques used to find information at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. and the National Library of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland.
